SCOPE
Nowadays computers and networks are utilized widely by youngsters to
elders, for a broad variety of purposes.  In the coming knowledge
society, the use of computers for creation, connection and
collaboration among these users will become important factors to
support computer-based human activities.  This conference is intended
to provide an international forum for the discussion and presentation
of creative and collaborative environments (especially built on
Smalltalk, Squeak and Croquet, but not limited to these) among
researchers, developers and users from not only technical points of
view but also practices and experiences.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
Original papers concerned with both theory and practice are solicited.
The areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

(1) Development and applications of Squeak and Croquet
(2) User collaboration utilizing 3D, multimedia and animation objects
(3) Technologies for creating educational environment
(4) Collaborative learning environment
(5) Integration of on- and off-computer activities such as scientific
experiments, instrumentation, robots and game playing

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions should follow the formatting instructions provided by IEEE
CS (http://www.computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm) with 8 pages limit.
Papers should be sent electronically to
c5-05 [at] db.soc.i.kyoto-u.ac.jp. The PDF, Postscript and MS- WORD formats
are acceptable.

IMPORTANT DATES
Paper submission: November 15, 2005
Notification of acceptance: December 15, 2004
Camera-ready copies: January 10, 2005

PUBLICATION
Preliminary version of the proceedings will be distributed during the
conference. The formal version of the proceedings will be published by
IEEE Computer Society Press after the conference (under
consideration).

RELATED EVENTS
An education workshop will be held on Jan. 30. This workshop focuses
on educational aspects of Squeak and related environments, especially
experiences in school activities, curricula for mathematics and
science learning and new technologies for computer-based education.
Prof. Seymour Papert (who is known as the inventor of LOGO) at MIT
Media Lab. will give a keynote talk in this workshop.
