CALL FOR PAPERS
15th International Workshop on Research Issues on Data Engineering:
April 3-4, 2005
National Center of Sciences, Tokyo, Japan

RIDE Workshop of Stream Data Mining and Applications
RIDE-SDMA '2005 http://info.it.nanzan-u.ac.jp/RIDE-SDMA/

which will be held in conjunction with
the IEEE CS International Conferences on Data Engineering
Sponsored by The Database Society of Japan (DBSJ)
Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ)
The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE)
(Pending final approval from IEEE, DBSJ, IPSJ and IEICE)

RIDE-SDMA '2005 is the fifteenth workshop in a series of annual workshops on
Research Issues in Data Engineering (RIDE), which will be held in conjunction with
the IEEE CS International Conferences on Data Engineering.
The detail information will be announced. “http://icde2005.is.tsukuba.ac.jp/”
and “http://icde2005.naist.jp/ (mirror)”

Scope
RIDE-SDMA '2005 deals with the use of engineering techniques and methodologies
in stream data mining for sensor and logging systems, such as text/semi-structured
data streams, video/multimedia streams and logging data continuously created by
long-term transactions, web click-streams and network monitoring systems, which
are useful and attractive for developing e-commerce applications, adaptive web sites
and intrusion detection systems.

Topics of Interests
RIDE-SDMA ‘2005 invites research submissions on all topics related to
Stream Data Mining and Applications, including but not limited to those listed below:

- Data mining algorithms and novel techniques for stream data analysis, which are
based on techniques of pattern discovery, time-series analysis for logging data,
broadcasting data, communication data and sensor data including time, location,
weather, temperature,  humidity and social activity data;

- Advanced techniques of stream data mining and its applications, which include
data compression, intelligent logging systems, sensor network systems, integrated
sensor devices, secure storage and firewalls for cracking and SPAM mails;

- Security of information platforms that influence society in various aspects;
 (which are also related to data mining for fraud detection, intrusion detection
and techniques of data anonymization.)

- Information visualizing tools and advanced applications for spatial data,
spatio-temporal data,  high dimensional data and graph-structured data;
