Organized by
 The IEEE Computer Society
Kyoto University Knowledge Society COE Program
National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)
The Database Society of Japan (DBSJ)
Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ)
The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers
 (IEICE)

Scope

Ubiquitous computing technologies provide a pervasive base for a real
world environment such that we can acquire and deliver information at
every place. Advances in the technologies of displays, electronic
papers, digital architecture, sensors, RFID tags and storage devices etc.
may bring a new real world environment for data access. The focus of
this workshop is on issues of the data management in such ubiquitous
environments. In particular objective is to focus more on new emerging
issues of data management (acquisition, storage, retrieval, and delivery)
involved with respect to pervasive, ubiquitous and sensor computing.
The aim is to bring together researchers and practitioners working in
the areas of ubiquitous data management, ubiquitous hypermedia,
context-aware databases, and content management in appliances, and
building advanced infrastructures and applications. Papers dealing with
theoretical interests, speculative ideas, and solid research foundation
and reporting implementation and practical results are solicited.

Topics of Interests (include, but are not limited to)

Access control and contents delivery for real world
Conceptual modeling for ubiquitous data management
 Context-aware information retrieval
Contents management & retrieval for home appliances
Data management issues for augmented reality
Personalization and adaptation for ubiquitous environment
 P2P information retrieval
Query language and processing for ubiquitous data management
 RFID data management and traceability
Semantic Web and Knowledge Management for Ubiquitous Environment
 Sensor data management
Spatio-temporal data management in ubiquitous environment
 Ubiquitous data acquisition and management
 Ubiquitous, physical and spatial hypermedia
User interfaces for contents access by pervasive devices
Web browsing and retrieval in mobile/ubiquitous environment
