Important Dates:
================
* Paper Submission:  November 23, 2005
* Notification:      December 22, 2005
* Camera ready copy: January 10, 2006

Scope:
======
Web information utilization has become a critical emerging research
area due to the exponential increase in the information circulation
and dissemination over the Web. Many challenging problems must be
addressed towards utilizing and exploiting the vast Web information,
which is highly heterogeneous and dynamic. This workshop focuses on
the technology for analyzing, integrating and retrieving information
on the Web. The primary aim of this workshop is to discuss and
exchange ideas on utilizing heterogeneous Web information, towards

* increasing Web information accessibility,
* decreasing lengths in Web navigation pathways,
* improving Web users requests servicing,
* integrating various data representation standards, and
* extending current Web information organization practices.

New research ideas or practices in the above areas are of crucial
importance due to the difficulties raised by the diversity of Web data
structure and representation, information distribution, communication
and accessing costs. Overall, this workshop aims to host work in some
of the most breaking topics, such as Web data accessing, Web querying,
Web services, Web user personalization, clustering over Web graphs
structures, Web metrics and performance issues, Web data prefetching
and caching. Moreover, it aims to be of interest to both academics and
industrial representatives due to the importance of Web information
retrieval and integration.

Topics of Interest:
===================
The papers sought for this workshop should include innovative and
original research work focusing on models, methodologies,
implementations and empirical studies in relation to Web data
access. The topics of interests include, but are not limited to:

* Web Models and Meta-data Management
* Large Scale Web Information Integration
* Web Query Languages
* Web-based Query Planning and Optimization
* Automatic Wrapper Generation
* Web Indexing, Caching and Data Storage Systems
* Clustering/Classification on the Web
* Web Data Extraction
* Web Log/Navigational Path Analysis
* Web Service Composition
* Context Sensitive Web IR
* Crosslingual, Multimedia Retrieval
* Semantic Web
* Summarization and Text Transformation
* Web Community and Cybersociety
* Information Visualization
* User Modeling and Personalization
* Web User Interface Integration
* Web Information Integration applications

Submission Guidelines:
======================
Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished work. Paper
should be in English and must not exceed 10 pages (IEEE format). Only
electronic submission in Postscript, Word, or PDF file will be
accepted. Papers will be reviewed by program committee members (and/or
external reviewers) for their quality, technical merit, originality,
significance, and relevance to the workshop.

Research papers must be submitted via WIRI paper submission system at
the Web site.

The accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and included in
the workshop proceedings. The workshop proceedings will be published
by the IEEE Computer Society Press, and also be archived in the IEEE
Computer Society's digital libraries.
