Overview The purpose of the First International Workshop on Data and
Semantic Engineering for Emerging Technology and Services (DASE2008) is to find out and
discuss issues and possible solutions to address efficient management,
usability, reliability, security, flexibility, scalability, and
extensibility of data and semantics for emerging technology and services.
Advanced research applications for DASE include Semantic Grid, semantic
GIS, semantic sensor networking, and semantic social networking including
the Semantic Web. DASE also includes all challenges for management of
data, context, metadata, semantics, applications, and services under
pervasive computing, ad-hoc/wireless sensor network, and ubiquitous
computing environments.

Proceedings/Special
Issues on International Journal The DASE2008 proceedings will be published by the
IEEE and will be indexed in both EI and ISTP. Selected good papers will be
recommended for publication in SSCI/SCI/SCI-E indexed international
journals. 1. Proceedings (Pending): All accepted papers for IEEE CS
proceeding will be published by IEEE CS series and will also be indexed by
EI. 2. A selected number of the accepted papers will be invited for
expanding and revising for possible inclusion in special issues for the
international journals (SCI, SCI(E), SSCI).
Selected papers will be published by SCI
