日本データベース学会の皆さま VLDB 2010のPhDワークショップの締切が今週末4/10(土)に迫っております. 博士学生の方はぜひともご検討ください. ============================================== VLDB 2010 PhD Workshop In conjunction with VLDB 2010, 13-17 September, Singapore http://www.vldb2010.org ****** Important Clarification: PhD workshop papers are meant to present on-going thesis work (in 6 pages). Some material from that thesis may have been already published or submitted. A normal research paper, such as those submitted to VDLB core database technology track for example, isn't a suitable submission for the workshop because it usually focuses on a specific problem, rather than a whole thesis, and presents a complete solution, rather than on-going work. ****** The VLDB 2010 Ph.D. Workshop will provide a high-quality international forum for Ph.D. students working in the areas related to VLDB conference series to present their ongoing research, share ideas, receive constructive feedback and establish professional networks with other PhD students and more senior researchers at the VLDB conference. A group of prominent researchers and high-performing early career researchers will be invited to participate the discussions at the workshop. We welcome submissions from students that are enrolled in a PhD program and who are working on topics relevance to those covered by the VLDB conference. We encourage submissions from students who are at the last stages of their doctoral work, and who can therefore present a more "complete" story about their thesis, as well as students who are in the beginning stages of their work and thus have a significant "future work" component. The former category will have the opportunity to showcase theses to a wider audience in preparation for a job search, whereas the latter can obtain valuable feedback about their upcoming research plans. Key dates: Paper submission deadline: April 10, 2010 Author notification: June 12, 2010 Camera-ready due: July 11, 2010 Each paper must be formatted according to the conference's camera-ready format and must be at most 6 pages in length. Submissions must be single-author, on the topic of their doctoral work. The name of the supervisor must be clearly marked ("supervised by ...") on the paper, under the author's name. Submissions must be in PDF format submitted via CMT website at https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/vldb2010. Accepted papers will be published as part of VLDB 2010 Proceedings (up to six pages).
