It provides a forum for technical presentations and discussions among database researchers, developers and users from academia, business and industry. DASFAA 2011 (http://www.cintec.cuhk.edu.hk/DASFAA2011/) will be held in Hong Kong, one of the most important financial centers in the world and a gateway to China. Hong Kong has significant activities in computing, including software companies, and many important users. It also has a strong academic tradition, with various different database groups in university departments. Original papers on both theoretical and practical database research are welcome.
