新年、明けましておめでとうございます。
京都大学の田中克己でございます。

来る1月17日（月）～18日（火）の2日間にわたり、京都大学主催の
「第9回AEARU国際ワークショップ：Web技術とコンピュータサイエンス」
が開催されます。

AEARU（東アジア研究大学連合）は、東アジアの17大学から
構成されており、現在、中国6大学、日本6大学、韓国3大学、
台湾2大学がメンバー校です。

今回のワークショップでは、AEARUメンバー校、および、アジアの他の
大学から、合計13名の教授、12名の博士学生が招聘され、京都大学の
研究者と共に、クラウドコンピューティング、ソーシャルコンピューティング、
サーチ・マイニングなどの研究発表・討論を行います。

東アジアにおけるクラウド研究やソーシャルコンピューティングの動向を
知る上でも貴重な内容となっています。奮ってご参加いただきますよう
お願い申し上げます。

開催目的：
WWWとWebテクノロジーは、Webサーチ・マイニング、オントロジーと
Semantic Web、集合知とソーシャルコンピューティング，メディア
コンピューティング、クラウドコンピューティング、サービス
コンピューティング等、コンピュータサイエンスおよびその周辺領域の
多くの分野の研究教育や、我々の社会そのものに対して、大きな影響
を与えています。さらに、Webテクノロジーは，virtual labやe-learning等
を用いた国際共同研究・教育や人材育成にも欠かせない技術となって
います。
Webテクノロジーとコンピュータサイエンスに関するAEARUワークショップ
は、AEARU （東アジア研究大学連合、the Association of EAST Asian
Research Universities）のメンバー大学や東アジアにおける主要大学の
研究者が一同に会し、Webテクノロジーとコンピュータサイエンスに関する
最新の研究・教育成果に関する情報交換・学術交流を行うフォーラムです。
今回の第9回Webテクノロジーとコンピュータサイエンスに関するAEARU
ワークショップでは、主に以下の内容の講演・討論が予定されています。

2) ソーシャルコンピューティング
3) Webサーチとマイニング
