Beijing Labs are looking for candidates with strong analytical and software skills to join our team. You would help improve the search query understanding and tagging algorithms for Yahoo Japan. Job Responsibilities: * Apply probabilistic, machine learning and data mining techniques to build models to improve relevance, revenue, and user experience. * Deep dive into the data to understand and apply patterns, while maintaining a sense of the big picture. * Work closely with colleagues on the engineering team to put your research results into action. * Provide thought leadership to guide the direction of Yahoo! Japan search query analysis products and services. Required skills/qualifications: * Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent. * Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning and data mining * Experience in data driven methods in computational linguistics, information retrieval, speech recognition, machine translation, image processing or other related fields * Fluency in Python, Perl, or another scripting language. * Fluent Japanese speaking. * Strong communication and collaboration skills.
