DASFAA is an annual international database conference in the Asia-Pacific region, which showcases 
state-of-the-art R&D activities in database systems and their applications. It provides a forum for 
technical presentations and discussions among database researchers, developers and users from 
academia, business and industry. DASFAA 2012 will be held on 15-18 April 2012 in the beautiful 
port city of Busan, South Korea. 
 
Original papers on both theoretical and practical database research are welcome. The topics of 
interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

The conference solicits proposals for industrial papers and demo papers, as well as research 
papers.  
 
The demo and industrial tracks of DASFAA 2012 will be a forum for high quality presentation on 
innovative products and services for all facets of information technology with emphasis on 
database systems, information retrieval systems, business intelligence, information integration, 
multimedia systems, social network systems, web systems. 
 
All submissions should be in English. 
All accepted papers will be published in a volume of "Lecture Notes in Computer Science" (LNCS) 
by Springer Verlag. (Pending Approval) 
 
 
CALL FOR TUTORIALS 
 
The goal of the DASFAA 2012 Tutorial is to offer conference attendees and local participants 
insightful and latest knowledge in database systems & WWW technologies. Tutorials whose 
audience is broader than the database research community are encouraged. 
 
We invite proposals for tutorials of DASFAA 2012. Tutorial proposals should include the following: 
. Title of the tutorial 
. Name and contact information of the instructor(s) and their credentials 
. Brief description about the aims and the scope of the tutorial 
. 400 word abstract 
. Keywords and relevant references 
. Full description (1~3 pages) 
. Any other noteworthy comments or remarks 

 
CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPASALS 
 
We invite proposals for workshops to be held with DASFAA 2012. Proposals should include the 
following information: 
. Workshop title and acronym 
. Brief description about the workshop, including a list of topics 
. Name and contact information of the organizer(s) 
. Proposed duration of the workshop (half or full day) 
. Potential PC members for the workshop 
. Important dates of the workshop 
. Expected number of attendees 
. Brief introduction of the organizer(s) and their credentials 


 
All papers accepted by DASFAA 2012 workshops will be published in a combined volume of Lecture 
Notes in Computer Science series published by Springer (pending for approval). All workshops will 
benefit from the registration process of DASFAA 2012 (we will have a single registration for 
conferences, workshops and tutorials). The workshop organizer(s) will be responsible for 
advertising the workshop, reviewing and selecting the papers. Proposals and enquiries should be
