The amount of data generated is explosively getting larger and larger,
which is recently called as an era of big data. In order to survive
this era, information retrieval and information recommendation become
a key technology for users.  However, the accuracy of search and
recommendation results is still insufficient, in particular, in the
context of big data.  This special session aims to make a deep
discussion on the topics of not only information retrieval and
recommendation but also analysis, mining, and human interface for big
data, so that many users can receive their benefits.

This special session is organized as a part of the 1st ACIS
International Symposium on Computers & Information Technology (SCIT
2013).  We welcome not only completed works but also work-in-progress
papers on the following topics, but not limited to:
 - Information Retrieval
 - Information Recommendation
 - Next Generation Web Search Engines
 - Context-aware Information Systems
 - Evaluation of Information Systems
 - Mining Big Data
 - Analysis of Big Data
 - Human Interface for Big Data


[Important Dates]
 - Paper Submission Due: May 14, 2013
 - Acceptance Notification: May 31, 2013
 - Camera-ready Due: June 14, 2013

[Paper Submission]
 - Authors are invited to submit their contributions by an email
   directly to Prof. Kenta Oku (oku [at] fc.ritsumei.ac.jp).

 - The submitted paper must be in PDF format and written in English.
   The contributions must be original and have neither been submitted
   nor published elsewhere.

 - The paper should be at most 6 pages using the two-column IEEE
   format.  The first page must contain authors' names, affiliation,
   and contact email addresses.
