The International Symposium on Cartography
in Internet and Ubiquitous Environments 2015
(CIU2015)
Tokyo, Japan, March 17 to 19, 2015

Due to the emergence of information technology, maps are more
useful and essential in our lives. Maps can be regarded as a basic
need in this new services-based world of Internet and Ubiquitous
Environments. This symposium focuses on rethinking the concept
of maps, mapping and Cartography from theoretical, pragmatic
and technical viewpoints in this changing information environment.
Oral and poster presentations about web, mobile and ubiquitous
mappings are invited. Please submit your papers and abstracts to
the symposium CIU2015.

A book with selected papers from the symposium will be published
in the Springer Lecture Notes Series from the ICA.

The end of March is a good season to meet together in Tokyo.
See how Tokyo is changing in preparation for the 2020 Olympic Games.

(Technical tours and the reception as part of
the symposium will be held at other places on
March 17. Another technical tour as an option
of the symposium is planned on March 20 to visit
the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI).)

*Submissions*
EasyChair is used for submission of full papers and abstracts to the
symposium.

Full papers - to present significant scientific results.
Peer review of the full paper. High-quality submissions
will be accepted for presentation at the conference and
published in Springer's Lecture Notes in Geoinformation
and Cartography Series. Manuscripts must describe
original work that has neither been published before,
nor is currently under review elsewhere. Papers should
be written in English according to the DOC or TeX
template files(available from the web), and should not
exceed 20 pages(including title, figures and references).
Full papersmust be submitted in PDF format through the
EasyChair website by 15th December.

Work in progress - to present ongoing work. Review of
the abstract. If accepted, you are invited to give an
oral presentation at the symposium and an extended
abstract or full paper (your choice) will be published
in the online proceedings of the symposium. Work in
progress abstracts (up to 600 words) must be written
in English and submitted through the EasyChair website
by 15th December.

Poster presentation - Review of the abstract. If accepted,
you are invited to give a poster presentation at the
symposium and an extended abstract will be published in
the online proceedings of the symposium. Abstracts (up
to 300 words) must be written in English and submitted
through the EasyChair website by 15th December.

*Travel Information*
All other important information such as VISA, registration
fee, hotels etc. will be available on the web of CIU2015
by the beginning of Nov. Also, please email the office of
CIU2015 if you have any questions about joining the symposium.
