Title: When Software becomes Digital Transformation Strategy

Abstract: Without question, the digital economy is growing at an exponential rate. Digital business is built on new computing infrastructure – the pillars of mobile, cloud, Big Data, and analytics – accelerated by the Internet of Things (IoT), advances in machine learning, and innovations like blockchain. These disruptive technologies are giving companies the ability to radically change business models, and create new products and services. With software used in every aspect of their daily business, customers have come to expect end-to-end outcomes that can be delivered through their business systems. In this session, we will introduce software make everything connected, smart and digital. And shows few case studies how the companies develop the roadmaps to navigate to the digital transformation journey.


Bio: Dr. Wen-Syan Li is Senior Vice President of SAP SE and Head of SAP IoT Digital Supply Chain & Strategic Projects in Asia, Japan, and Greater China. His team works on the new IoT enabled digital supply chain applications like SAP Global Track & Trace, SAP Transportation Resource Planning, SAP Extended Warehouse Management, & SAP Transportation Management and etc. Also focus on the IoT strategic engagements with Huawei, NTT, Intel, and etc. His team is also responsible for building predictive analytics capabilities in SAP’s in-memory database HANA. He received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Northwestern University (USA). He also has an MBA degree in Finance. Dr. Li’s research interests include databases, distributed computing, data mining, machine learning, optimization & scheduling, and IoT. Before joining SAP, he was with IBM Almaden Research Center and NEC Research in Silicon Valley USA. He was the winner of 2007 IBM Research Award and 2004 Best of CeBIT America Award in Enterprise Software. He has co-authored 100+ journal articles and conference papers in various areas, and co-invented 100+ granted/pending US patents.
