International Workshop on Data Engineering Issues in E-Commerce (DEEC 2005)

E-Commerce (or e-business) is heralded as the truly significant impact of the Internet Revolution. Enterprise applications and the Internet are providing companies with new business opportunities and unparalleled efficiencies. Every day, more and more companies are utilizing an ever increasing amount of data and documents that range from simple transactional data to complex business process definitions. These must be stored, managed, and exchanged. The e-business environment presents a variety of challengi ng data engineering problems, such as product information management and ontological support for e-business.

This Workshop aims to provide a venue for discussions and exchanges of ideas on data engineering issues in this dynamic environment. Submissions of on-going works as well as original papers describing mature results that address challenging issues are invited.

Workshop Topics include, but are not limited to,:

E-Business process integration and management
Business intelligence, CRM, and data mining
E-Commerce frameworks and supporting technologies
Repositories and registries
E-procurement and supply chain management systems
E-catalogs and product lifecycle management
E-Commerce standards (e.g., UBL, xCBL, RosettaNet, ebXML, EDI, EDI/XML, etc)
E-Logistics and RFID
Ontologies in e-commerce
E-commerce contents
Web services for database applications
Semantic Web for e-commerce
Data privacy and security
Auctions and Mechanism Design
Agents in E-Commerce


Submissions:

The official language is English and the format of the electronic copy can be Postscript, Word, or PDF. Detailed formatting instructions from IEEE can be found at: http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm. Submissions are limited to ten pages in the specified format. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Authors are required to submit papers through the official Workshop homepage (http://www.cebt.re.kr/DEEC2005/). The official paper submission page is scheduled to be open by the end of September 20 04. The accepted papers will be presented at the workshop and included in the workshop proceedings. The workshop proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press, and also be archived in the IEEE Computer Society's digital libraries. At least one author of each accepted paper is expected to attend the workshop, and to present the paper, in order to include the paper in the proceedings.



Important Dates:

Submissions must be received no later than November 22, 2004.
Authors will be notified of their submissions status by January 1, 2005.
Camera-Ready versions must be received by February 4, 2005.
